Dating myself here, but.. the first house I lived in, when I left home
at 20, was on Hudson St in Redwood City, across the street from Hawes
Park. It had been on the market for months and wouldn't sell, so
the real estate company bought it from the seller at some fire sale
price and turned it into a rental for a while. The asking price
that nobody would touch? $73k.
I shudder to think what that shack is worth today.. :0
