bit of confusion on exhausts

Dan,

For $48.99 (buy it now price) who cares if #1 is filled with cotton? If you
like it buy it. It might only last a year or two but at that price why
worry? You might even get lucky and get three years out of it. Reference my
last note to you re: longevity.

good aftermarket muffler reccommendations? I'm looking for something along
the lines of low purr/growl as opposed to high, annoying buzz. I have some
Audi muffler on now and it doesn't sound like much at low rpms but when I
step on it and get into the higher rpms its got a really nice, deeper hum.
Here is what I'm looking at for mufflers. I'm going more for looks and sound
than performance.

what's inside, where as #1 could be stuffed with cotton for all I know.
Also, 2 and 3 are straight through. 2 has the typical canisters on rice cars
which makes me leery of the fartcan sound but 3 is a bit expensive.
