Are you sure? Won't different cam overlap change the amount of =
compression read by a compression tester?

Actually, you can determine your engine's ACTUAL CR by doing a =
compression test. This is not the theoretical compression ratio by any =
means, but the true CR taking into account all the worn rings, bad =
valves, and cracked pistons that your engine is actually living with.=20
Unless your engine is in perfect mechanical shape, (and has a very =
mild cam) the actual CR will be something less (sometimes a LOT less!) =
than the theoretical, but it will give you an idea. It only takes a few =
minutes with the pressure gage and a few seconds with a calculator.

So I can figure out my compression ratio by doing a comrpession test? =
Hey, I have a cheapo compression test gauge deal-io that I have never =
even used.=20
How do I do this and what should I be looking for?
