Recommendation for tires??

I have had BFGoodrich CompTA's on the teardrops of my 16V for about
three years now. Have been satisfied, but nothing extraordinary.

I know I could get something a lot sportier, like Dunlop's, but the problem
is that 3-4 times a year the car has to drive under heavy snow conditions
(Colorado). So I am looking for a good compromise between sportiness
and making sure I don't die because my tires can't handle snow.

Has anyone tried anything better than the Comp TA's, given the constraints
I am describing?
