radiator flushing
Some thing I've noticed in both my 8V and 16V is that Volkswagon uses a
metal coupling between the hoses from the heater core and the block... one
hose has the valve and one has a coupling. This coupler starts to corrode
and crust up on the inside thus restricting the passage way. If you are
flushing the system it's a good idea to pull this coupling out and either
scrape it clean or replace it with a plastic one if it's corroded, it's
also a good place to stick in the 'T' if you are installing the Prestone
flush kit by the way since you don't have to cut any hoses.
