fuel pump install

It sure is. Most difficult part is using a flat head to hammer the lock
that holds the fuel pump.

How come I always hear of fuel pump installs being a bitch, as in having to
drop the tank? I've done the main pump once, it took like 20 minutes. Is
the transfer pump that easy too?

Is this the transfer pump or main pump?  For both of these you dont have to
drain the tank but to change the transfer pump it should be less than
75%full.  Transfer pump is under the rear seat, if you look at it removal
and installation I self explanatory in my opinion.  For the main pump (in
front of pass side rear wheel)  Pretty simple also, just make sure to
tighten the connector down in the correct position you will figure out what
I mean.

Hey guys.  82 Rabbit Gti.  I need to replace the fuel pump.  What are the
steps? Is there a drain on the tank to drain the fuel?  Do i just drain it
and exchange the pumps?  Are there any tricks?
