The first drive home in the 87'...

Well it was scary. This car was put together on a MAJOR budget.=
Hey, I bought the thing for $100 and replaced the non-working=
parts with ones from the wrecked 85'. Unfortunately, not all of=
the 85's parts were useful or useable. And some just haven't=
made the trek to their new home yet.

The brakes need work, bad! Cosmetically, it's a bit of an=
 eye-sore. Mechanically, it's got more bugs than a projects=
apartment. But it ran well enough to risk the trip half way=
across town to my apt where it is now resting in the nice gated=
 parking lot under a street lamp. I think it's happy ;) I know I=
 am.

So only time will allow me to work out all the issues and start=
to trust this car as I did the 85'. It was a very nice feeling=
to be behind the wheel of a scirocco again. Felt like I'd never=
been away. An old friend, you might say. Even installed the=
Corbeau for the maiden voyage. Pictures can be found at the=
following page, but I need to update badly since I left out the=
past week or so worth of work on the car.=

Just thought I'd share.
