Eek, that bad? I'm used to northern NY snow driving where the tread of
all-seasons are good enough to get you around. I figured those on the bac=
k
would be sufficent to keep that end in line while snows on the front woul=
d
make sure the car would go in the direction I wanted it to. But anyways, =
now
that I know otherwise, are blizzaks the way to go or are there =
others people prefer?

My Rocc is stored of course, but the bug has "el cheapo" snows, (Hercules=
? I
think they were like $80 each for 16's) and they have been fine. Noisy, a=
nd a
bit squirmy dry, but in the snow, look out. Way better than "all seasons"=
,
they have a chunky, off road sort of block pattern in the tread. I backed=
the
car around "mid change" last night with one side on the snows, the other =
side
on the lower profile summer Michelins, and even that felt wierd, so I wou=
ldn't
be mixing them personally. And get a set of junker rims so you don't have=
the
hassle of mounting and balancing each season. It'll pay for itself unless=
you
own a tire shop and can do it for free.
