RIEGER for sale!(value)long
Reigers may be worth that much at first, but as with any "personal" mod, the
value dips considerably the moment it hits the car. For Example, in the Aug.
2002 issue of Performance VW, there are two Reiger Sciroccos' in the
Classifieds. There is a White one that was featured in 08/00 PVW, one owner
last 8 years, and the kit is custom modified so that the Reiger Side skirts
blend into the factory arch (it's the GTS Evo kit, not the widebody kit) 17
in. wheels, the car was featured as an article of 2 Reiger Sciroccos. The
Price after you convert it to US Dollars? $2,579.00
The Second one is a full Widebody kit beautifully finished in blue, it's a
16v Storm car, HUGE rims,(not deep dish, looks like 17's spaced out), I mean
the paint looks like glass. The Price? $7,493.00 It almost appears that
this kid who has a $12,000 Reiger that isn't in all that good shape (or so
it seems from all the posts)
is just trying to do what a lot of people do with cars.....sell it to a
person who ISN"T obsessive like us and knows the price of every nut and bolt
that goes on our cars, and doesn't have German Reiger Catalogs and Ekta as
staples of their computer use.(I've personally helped people sell cars for
WAAAAY much more than they're worth to non-enthusiasts. In Fact, some
enthusiasts can be a pain in the ass when they come to look at a car,
nit-picking a stone chip on a 15 year old car or bringing their own hydraulic
jacks, testing everything from tire tread depth to measuring the brake pad
and rotor thickness, then offering you 1500 off the asking price) Honestly,
if you really want a Reiger, it would almost (HEAVY ON THE ALMOST) be cheaper
to import an already done car. Since it's a car we already have here,
Federalizing it shouldnt be that hard, as we already have bumpers and lights
laying around, and downpipes fitted with cats. For those of you shipping
their cars to England next year, you could always do a VIN switch and bring
one back as your own....just and opinion......
