rough running ?

alright, my buddy alex's rocco is running outright bad. the car is missing 
and has no torq, but starts and idles fine. he seems to think it's an 
electrical problem, but i'm not so sure. where would you start in your 
trouble shooting on this one, oh wise ones? any help would be greatly 
appreciated.
