i need help guys!!! my gti wont rev right

i transferred the rocco 16v motor into the gti the other day and it wont rev 
past 6200rpm's. i changed the computer off of the rocco into the gti. i know 
the rocco used to rev to 7200 so what gives???       i wanted to know if the 
stock 7k tach has something to do with it, since that is the only other thing 
i haven't changed except for the fuel pump relay.    somebody please help
