Teaching someone to drive a stick in your car
This is exactly how I was teaching my sister to start, and she did very
well. I think she only killed it twice, and she just got ahead of
herself a freaked out a little bit. I also told her to make sure she
depresses the clutch whenever she hits the brakes, to always know what
gear your in, etc, etc. The clutch is almost shot in my '81 (the car I
was teaching her in), it engages withing the last 1/2"-1" of travel of
the pedal. I have a new pressure plate and clutch disk, I just need a
reason to put them in =o).
She ain't driving the '84, I was without it for a year and a half, and
I'm the one that drives that one!!
