Amplifier Installation

I just wanted to back up Calimus's note on the bass tube, I have a sony head
(44watts x 4) a boss 250watt amp and a 10" tube. My amp is bridged
(500watts) and the tube fits perfectly in the trunk in the right rear corner
by the washer fluid fill neck. It takes up hardly any space and you hardly
even notice its there. It hits very hard with all that airspace in the
hatch, I keep mine turned down to about 50% output on the head unit.
Everything Calimus mentioned was right on the money, I would also keep in
mind not to mount the amp where it could be covered up by something rolling
around in the trunk. Amps need to bleed off a lot of heat and if they can't
you'll toast it fast. If it is bass you looking for get a good amp. Your
head units is powerful enough to push most any mid range quality speakers to
their limit. Check out Crutch field for amps, they have good prices and a
good selection. If money is really tight, also go check out you local pawn
shop for some good deals but make sure they show you it works first before
buying anything. The spec on your head says you have 45Wx4 with 2 sets of
sub outputs, built-in crossovers, Sub-Out low pass filters(50/80/125Hz,
-18dB/Oct.) Which basicly means you can run four speakers form the head and
2 amp units. Get some long, good quality RCA jacks and they will plug right
into the back of the head, and right into most amps. You head unit has a lot
of other options, you might consider calling pioneer and getting the to send
you a copy of the intructions for spec and install.
