Which wire fell out, between which two components did the wire go?

Double check that the dimmer is set to max, but in either case sounds like
the headlight switch had too much current flow through it, and it crapped
out. 

Do some electrical tests on the outputs of the switch, that'll narrow things
down. 

Or get a new one, and replace, probably a good thing to do anyway.
