Patrick-
Bentley says Max delta is 44psi.
You are still right; "tired (just more so), but not dead"
William-
Worn rings, worn cylinders, worn/burnt valves and/or seats, bad head =
gasket, cracked head, worn cam lobe (VERY WORN!), can cause low cylinder =
pressure. (You didn't forget to hold the throttle open on that one =
cylinder, did you?)Lessee...anything else someone can add?
Larry sandiego16V
well the highest compression being 190 and the lowest compression =
being 150, the differential tbetween those two is only 40 psi, I beleive =
the max differential is 48 psi, so its tired, but not dead, a bearing =
job and a ring job (piston cleaning bore of chambers, would be =
sufficient to bring that all back to good compression and give it =
another 150K miles of life, until a full rebuild is done to it!
=20
but then again that is my and only mine opinion.

Patrick (the humble one)
I know theres been allot of these questions on the list, but I =
haven't been able to catch them since I've been moving into my new house =
this past week. I just ran a compression check and here is what I got. =
it's in order from 1 to 4: 150, 170, 170, 190. This is on a 88' 16v =
with about 200k +/- maybe 10k at the most. Is this what I should be =
seeing or can anyone deduce anything else from this. The car feels =
strong when she's running so I'm not sure what to make of it other then =
maybe worn rings. Any help would be appreciated.
