Tranny Nedded for 84 8V

Hey Guys,
I've got an 8V 84 Scirocco about a year ago that (I think) has a bad tranny. 
The tranny was stuck in 4th when I got the car, but after playing with the 
linkage, it will now shift (very sloppily) into 1st, 2nd and 3rd, but it 
will not shift into 4th or 5th while driving. It's not easy, but I can shift 
into all gears while standing still.
The car has a great motor, but a little rust under the driver side door and 
it has been just sitting in the grass.
Anyhow, a couple of listers have commented that a *new* used tranny would 
cure the problem and although Daun has been keeping an eye out for me, no 
luck yet. Anyone who is planning the trip to "Cincy" got a good tranny that 
they wanna sell? Of course, the cheaper the better!
Ant techies out there want a change out a tranny for tech day? (just a
