McMaster Carr Linkage stuff

Since I am pretty much stupid I will ask this question.  I have the list of
parts to buy.

rod ends #9416K87 for $2.25 ea. 
13mm ball studs- part #9512K83 at $1.13 per.
safety wire clips- #9416K82  $3.13 pkg of ten.

but what about the rods themselves?  Can the existing ones be used??
if not what do you use for the rods and do you have to thread them??
