mid-engined Scirocco
Tom was right it was. All the drivetrain and suspension are from an Audi 5000
and the linkage was a custom job. The motor was a 2.0 out of a golf but it
went into a rocco mk2 first. Which had a g60 put in its bay giving this weird
toy a motor. I have to admit it was a shade job when I first saw it but there
is nothing like an mk1 doing donuts and fishtailing on pavement.
I have this kids card somewhere in my collection if anyone wants it. I don't
know if the number is still good I haven't seen him since 98 when he first
put this thing on the road.
Its pretty neat how he took the front section of a Audi 5000 turned it into
kinda tube frame and welded it into place in the rear. Oh and as for the
questions on the actual page. That wasn't the gas tank under the spare tire.
all that was move to the front. I think he just had some sort of tray under
there. Why . . ? I dunno . .
Then again the whole car needs a big Why to be asked of it . .
I dunno but its cool . . !
