This being The Scirocco List, I suspect the overwhelming opinion is that you
should find a nice Scirocco. (I can help with that - ask me ;)

Bear in mind that the Saab motor faces backwards and the timing belt is
right against the firewall -- makes changing it a PITA. Also, they have
historically had weak trannies, test drive to see whether it pops out of
(any) gear when you accelerate then let off quickly.

Otherwise they are quite durable and watching your friend who just borrowed
it figure out where to stick the key is always good for 15 minutes of fun.
