Oh jeez...

If I can remember:

Bought my '81 from a junk yard in 1990 for $1200
16V engine, trannt ,etc. in 1991 for $1950
About $1300 to get it in and running
Koni's & springs...$900
Neuspeed sways...$250 (?)
Autotech rear stress & lower subframe $250 (?)
Leather interior (back in 1991 I remind you) $600
(Cheap) wheels $320
Paint & body work $1900
2.0 Block, head, rebuild project ~$3500
Power windows, locks, alarm and door panels ~$400

That totals $12,570, but I'm sure that I forgot a bunch of stuff, and it 
does not include any stereo equipment which was in the car at one time when 
I cared about that. And...this has been a project of mine for over 12 years. 
It was also my daily driver when I started. I used to drive it to work 
everyday.
