I am probly making this harder than it is but the schematic in the bently
does not look exactly like what I have.
There are 3 connections on the starter(solonoid) A mig 10mm nut and 2 spade
connectors.(plus the braided 1" wire to the starter housing, not mentioned
again in this question)
Bently shows in the 86 16v a 4mm wire from post 30 of the starter (one of
the spade connections) to D24. Fine.
The only other connection Bently calls out is post "30" which shows 2
2.5mm(or 1 6mm depending on year) going to the alt and a 25mm to the Batt(+)
Fine.
BUT, what about the OTHER spade connection. I am sure this is part of the
route back to the ignition switch but wish Bently would show that better. I
actually have a rd/blk and a blk (about 1mm ea.) that I think goes on the
other spade caonnector and the shape of the plastic connector makes it fit
on only THAT spade. Should I follow my gut and hook it up? I am just
trying to stick to the book and it comes up short for me here.
Bently does show 2 fine vert black lines going down off of the starter
indicating a ground path. Is that all it is. A Ground? They dissapear
into the harness, D I think and I can find the other end w/ my continuity
checker.
Thanks for any help
