ebay rant (short)

For me, here's the deal.

I can put a high-bid amount all I want, but come the last 5 minutes of the
auction, 4 times out of 5  I'll get all itchy and tingly inside and lift my
high bid right at the end.  It just depends how badly I want the item.  Most
the time I'll keep an eye on an auction jump in at the very end, only so the
illusion is that less people are interested in the item over the course of
the auction.
