So I finally replaced the rad on my 16v this past weekend, and after =
refilling all the components I'm hearing a whirring sound from the water =
pump area, and it's weeping fluid, so how much weep is too much? About =
one drop every 7 seconds at Idle (obviously). I know I've still air in =
the system will take a few days for it to work it's way out, so is this =
sound the pump dying, or impeller blades cavitating in air pockets (the =
sound is pretty regular but it is intermittant). Also can I use a pump =
off a 8v motor (i've two in my garage). one other thing... the pully on =
the waterpump isn't precisely true it wobbles a tiny bit, could this =
wear something out inside the pump? bushings, bearings... Also any tips =
as to replacement? I seem to remember some folks talking about =
broken/seized bolts etc...
