Hence, my '81 (and my now passed '84) were Rabbit convertibles.
>From '85 to '93, they were rebadged as Cabriolet. And, coincidently,
remained on the A1 platform, with only minor trim changes. If you
hear about the "Cabby kit" or (I believe) the "Clipper kit," it is
the body kit and bumpers from the '88-'93 Cabriolet. They especially
look good on a 2dr Rabbit -- Jason, TMB's fiance Alee, has one so outfitted.
There was no convertible body in '94, and in '95 it became the Cabrio.
I was under the impression that the Cabrio is an A3, but I have also heard
it's an A2 on an A3 frame.....
