hey i need help with my tranny questions please

In a 'normal' open diff you'd be seeing the opposite direction thing. 
But inside ours, just behind the flanges, are springs and brass
friction rings that perform a slight limited-slip function.  If you
grab both and twist hard in opposite directions, I bet you could
overcome that friction.
