misinformation rides again!!!!
It's been said before, and all the info is out there, but I'd like to try t=
o
clear it up too... (how may vw gear-heads does it take to explain the
difference between 4-motion and quattro?) (no answer)
_every_ AWD system that Audi sells is called "quattro"
_every_ AWD system that VW sells is called "4-motion"
_every_ (current) AWD VW/Audi with a longitudinally mounted motor uses a
TorSen=81 center differential.
_every_ (current) AWD VW/Audi with a transversely mounted motor uses a
Haldex=81 center differential.
The name has nothing to do with what's under the skin, don't judge a book b=
y
it's cover, etc.=20
So to recap....=20
A Passat has ----> 4-motion and TorSen
An Audi TT has ---> Quattro and Haldex
TorSen knows that Haldex blows.
