Old Memories of first cars

This will reveal me as an old cooter but:

=46irst car: 1960 Studebaker Lark rag top.  V8, 3spd overdrive, and
reclining seats! Free hand-me-down that got me through HS, college,
grad school and 1 year of stateside US Army.

=46irst VW: 1971 Super Beetle.  Bought new at Autohaus Schiffarhter Dam,
Muenster, Germany ($1680) through the Dutch Air Force PX (to avoid the
German taxes).  Over 38000 miles in 21 months in Europe, 84mph
floored, autobahn cruising speed.  Brought it back to California and
sold it for $1700.

=46irst Scirocco: 1975.  Bought new at Crest Motors, Escondido,
California ($4500). Still got it.
