Absolutelu true. The problem with running only water is corosion and =
vaporization which leads to hot spots in the head, hence knocking.Using =
WaterWetter seems to help with that.Factory likes to use antifreeze to =
avoid frozen engines, but they admit more than 50% results in =
overheating.Propylene glycol absorbs heat better than ethylene glycol , =
it's a surpising auto companies did not make the substitution yet ( =
maybe propylene glycol is more expensive? ). Another thing to consider =
is the higher viscosity of 100% glycol in the cooling system. It will =
lubricate the water pump, but it might wear it out faster.

I've heard (can't remember where) that pure water has better cooling =
characteristics than any antifreeze, even though the AF has a higher =
ultimate boiling point. The higher the ratio of AF to water, the worse =
the cooling. =20
Can't say for sure if this is true, since I've not experimented =
along these lines...
take it for what it's worth (maybe nothing)
