"Scirocco-style" drag-racing radiators?

Does anyone had any knowledge to share about "Scirocco-style" drag
racing radiators. As near as I can tell, this is considered to be the
"generic" type of radiator people use in dedicated drag cars. But it's
interesting to note that the spec/standard size listed for all of the
brands that make this type of radiator is nearly identical to my
Scirocco's stock radiator (21"x13"). Anybody know if this is
coincidence? Just curious...

I'm evaluating radiator/fan replacements for my '77 Scirocco. I'm
particularly interested in something thinner and/or a little bit smaller
than the stock radiator so that I can more easily fit my air/air
intercooler. If anyone has any insight they wish to share, I'm all ears!
Right now, it looks like I'm leaning toward keeping the stock radiator
and getting a low-profile fan...
