transmissions

couple questions

1) I have an 86' 8v and an 88' 16v are the transimissions the same? If not
are any parts interchangable

2) What special tools are *required* to rebuild either transmision? I can go
through the bentely and add them all up, but they have a special tool to
hold the head at the right angle when you wack out the valve seals. So what
tools do you really need?

3) Here's the reason I am asking. My car has been very hard to get into gear
lately. Sometimes when iddleing i can heard a buzzing or a rattling sound. I
think the clutch just isn't comming all the way out, but my clutch cable is
adjusted all the way and there is still more then a the  0.7 cm slack the
bentely says I should have.


I'm thinking about getting a 2.0 shot block and rebuilding the 16v I have,
and I'm trying to figure out what to do about the transmission. If I move
the 16v over to my 8v I'll move the tranny over too, and I think that tranny
is fine (at least from what I remember).
