Don't even ask how it happened, it was just one of those days where
everything goes bad on a really simple job.
Any way while trying to replace my water pump on my 8 valve I snapped
off both of the lower bolts (the long ones) and they are stuck in the
engine block. Mark it up to stupidity and errosion :o(
I went to the store and bought a set of reversed thread bolt removers
where you drill a whole down the center of the broken bolt and then you
screw in these and and once they are tight they start to unscrew the
bolt. Well, I tried one of the smaller ones and quickly snapped the tip
of it off inside my bolt. This sucks because its hardened steel and
really hard to drill through but its such a small bit of it that I
should be able to grind it out with my dremal. On the other bolt I have
drilled a much bigger hole and will be able to screw in a much thicker
bolt remover but am scared this one will snap too. I also bought some
of that spray that's suppose to lubricate stuck bolts. Are there any
other suggestions out there before I go back on Wednesday and have
another go at it? That's about it, thanks for any help...
