It didn't have a chance - I
smoked it good... I turned to my friend in the passenger seat, and we
both had the same thought - this totally symbolized the "death" of the
Rabbit (quite literally actually :-)
(on omens)
There was a double rainbow in the sky when I went to pick up my 16V, I've=
only
seen this twice in my whole life, the other on my brother's 30th birthday=
=2E Had
to be a good thing.
Now today (on the topic of omens) I see the second bluebird ever, as I em=
bark
on the trip to retrieve my ailing bug which is stranded in the big city (=
To.)
Last one of those I saw was after we laid my 1 month old niece to rest, i=
t may
not be a good sign. :(
(on fate)
So...
THE CONSPIRACY CONITNUES in the Boyko household, we are reliant (no chrys=
ler
pun intended) once again on the PT for sole transportation (I'm scared, v=
ery
scared). =
Here's the Dub tally (last week this time all four ran):
81 Rabbit - never been fit, but at least it runs, needs the DS seat to mo=
ve
for safety certification. (can't be driven)
87 Jetta - dented as a result of no brake fluid/ Malibu in same space/tim=
e on
the way home from the Niagara bug show, still no brakes, but it has a gre=
at
wax job. (can't be driven)
87 16V Scrirocco - gaping hole in the engine where the oil temp. sensor s=
hould
be, I'd get the part, but I have no car... (can't be driven)
99 NewBeetle TDI - chillin' in the big city overnight with it's expensive=
relatives (Porsches, maybe it'll learn some good behaviors), dechipped bu=
t it
won't start, also needs the injector pump rebuilt. (can't be driven, and =
is
two friggin' hours away)
Looking to buy a used LADA, or maybe a Yugo. =
Oh, did I mention the water pump in the house blew up while I was away an=
d
pumped the entire cistern (2000 gallons) into the basement? And yes, our
gallons are 25% wetter than yours.
And I wondered what I'd do with all my free time. Yep, life is good.
Whistle along now... "Always look on the bright side of life, (whistle he=
re,
doo doo, do do do do do doo)..." =
Cathy, an eternal optimist, good thing or I'd be suicidal. =
These cars WILL go to Waterfest, dammit!
