Headlight troubles

Chances are it is a burned out low beam. It uses a separate filament for the
high beam and low beam operation, which is why it comes on again with the
high beams.

A voltmeter or a replacement headlight will tell you for sure. Either option
is less than $10 if you don't already own them.
