Hello all,
My car is sick and needs a warm-up bypass valve to make things right.
The VAG CD calls it an "auxiliary air valve". Part number 049-133-453
E. The VAG CD shows that there are three versions, but I'm looking for
one for an 8V manual trans.
Anyone out there parting out a car and willing to sell to me?
I also noticed that the wires going to it have been cut in the past.
I've always had funny cold-start idle problems, and I'm guessing this
valve was stuck closed for all these years and so a mechanic just cut
the wires. Now I'm thinking the thing got vibrated enough to get jammed
open (I frequently make long trips from Philly to Erie) , which is why
I'm idling at about 2500-3000 rpm.
By the way. Anyone have experience with replacing an axle shaft? I'm
getting clicking from the right and left front end. It doesn't appear
to be cv joints of bearings (yet) and was wondering what kind of cost
I'm looking at for replacing them with remanufactured parts.
