Shift linkage questions

I spoke with Vince (?) at V.L. Enterprises and he told me he normally
carries an alignment tool. Looks like I'm going to have to order it as I
did NG following the Bentley.

I've never had a problem replacing any of the bushings except the
bracket 
for the gear shift rod (center of the car between the linkage and
shifter).

Alignment is another story. Anyone have a good procedure? I've always
been 
able to do it by feel but it takes a while.
