Ram Air

Ben-
  ram air simply means the intake air is routed to the air cleaner from =
a high-pressure area of the car (usually the front, sometimes a hood =
scoop)
This supposedly "rams" air into the intake, sort of a poor-man''s =
supercharging.
Probably the biggest benefit is that it usually draws in cooler air than =
is available under the hood.
