Open question to those who know
I am currently servicing the rear brake/wheel assembly and have removed the
"rusty: rear spindle/brake plate on a 82 -8V
During removal, what seems to be a shim plate came out between the back of
the spindle, and the mounting plate on the trailing arm. (too rusty to
properly identify) Any service book I see, has no mention of this. The
original spindle assembly seems pretty rough on the mating service, and I
wonder if this plate allows a smooth mating service to the trailing arm
plate.
1- Is there a shim for alignment that goes there???
2-What are the proper torque for re attaching the bolts
3 any "easy home remedy" way to insert the bearing races into new hubs.
Give it your best shot
