My scirocco tried to kill me!!! (long)



My Storm lost a rear bearing in the same way, just went with no warning on 
the motorway - felt really wierd.
My wife had a MKI Golf diesel a few years ago which did the same thing not 
long after she bought it, except that the rear wheel came right off! 
Fortunately she was doing < 10mph at the time so there was no real damage. 
Unbelievably, the brake shoes survived unscathed so a replacement stub axle 
& drum/bearings fixed it.
