radiator hoses

Im thinking of keeping the non-expansion bottle 8v radiator in my 
conversion.  The lower rad hose is supposed to connect to the lowest water 
pump fitting right?  I think it will still fit.
Has anyone done this hybrid type set-up?
Craig, I think you had a similar situation.
Hints?  Feedback?
