it's called an oil cooler.....there's another gasket to change.....go dig
that old oil filter out of the trash and save that gasket. Sometimes they're
the right size, if not, you'll have to order it.

It happens because you jiggled it and broke the seal of the oil cooler to
the engine.

hows everyone rocco's doing today. well i i replaced the oil filter today
and theres a huge oil leak now. i looked and found it but i dont know what
it is called. its coming from that little box that i connect the oil filter
to. any ideas on how this happend and also the name of it would be helpful.
