accumulator questions
accumulator mainly serves to keep fuel pressure in the system after the car
is shut off. on an 82, it also serves to provide fuel when the fuel pump
looses its suction (as there is no reservoir on that year).
if it was bad, it would no longer act as an accumulator and basically act
like it wasnt even there. the effect of this may be slight
hesitation/missing when hitting the gas hard. coupled with a bad fuel pump
check valve, can cause hard starting (as the system has to re-prime itself).
