My best upgrade yet!

<P>I think that the key to a happy rain-x experiance is proper application, as with anything if used improperly rain-x will yield shiitey results. I have used it in some pretty nasty winter driving with most excellent results. To the best of my knowledge the product is nothing more than specialized wax and I believe all of us have witnessed just how undesirable wax can be when applied incorrectly.</P>
<P>This has been the only thread I actualy felt qualified to comment on so I thought I should sieze the opportunity.</P>

<DIV></DIV>I've never had the sticky crud show up and think rain-x compliments wipers
<DIV></DIV>specially around town because even bad wipers will clear your windshield
<DIV></DIV>when rain-x is on there. Also because it causes water to bead up you can
<DIV></DIV>see right through it so it doesn't impare vision. I hate driving in town
<DIV></DIV>without rain-x cause even with wipers going you still get that sheat of
<DIV></DIV>water effect on the windshield and it distorts everything. I've actually
<DIV></DIV>found more crud build up to happen without rain-x because rain-x helps keep
<DIV></DIV>the dirt from accumilating on the window which causes wipers to go quicker
<DIV></DIV>than this fabled sticky crud you speak of ;o)
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>If you would like a rain-x demonstration I'd be happy to do one :oP

<DIV></DIV>Isn't that what I said? I said that freeway driving, or driving fast enough
<DIV></DIV>to blow the rain off the windshield works well with Rain-X and a gob of in
<DIV></DIV>town driving (I live in W. Washington where we get more rain than sun--not
<DIV></DIV>really but seems like it sometimes) Rain-X doesn't help much because you
<DIV></DIV>have to use your wipers alot and that will take the coating off and turn it
<DIV></DIV>into sticky crud on your windshield and blades.
<DIV></DIV>
<DIV></DIV>Thought I said that. Oh, again, It does work really well if your on the
<DIV></DIV>freeway or going fast enough to blow the rain off of your windshield. Just
<DIV></DIV>wanted to make sure I covered everything.

<DIV></DIV>> I gotta poke my head into this one for rain X. Maybe its just a northern
<DIV></DIV>> thing, but it works great up here. There are a few tricks to using it
<DIV></DIV>> though. You have to make sure you buff it in really, really good. Dont'
<DIV></DIV>> get any on the wiper, it'll wreck it. It also makes the windsheild
<DIV></DIV>> ultra-clean. Then you just drive fast! The faster you go the more rain
<DIV></DIV>> will fly off. It's really fun to see. At night, it can rain as hard as
<DIV></DIV>it
<DIV></DIV>> wants, and you don't need any wipers. You don't even see the rain. You
<DIV></DIV>can
<DIV></DIV>> only see it when a car shines lights at you, or on a lit road. But it
<DIV></DIV>> actually made my wiper work better too. Don't let any squeegee dudes near
<DIV></DIV>> your car, or any gas station attendants. They'll wreck it with that
<DIV></DIV>stuff.
<DIV></DIV>> Wash with just water.
