Personally I use a 2 foot long pipe wrench, but for those who want the
ultimate in power (or have a short fuse when encountering stubborn parts)

Check out the 5 footer. I saw a big pipe wrench in a hardware store
yesterday, on display up way too high to be sure, but I think it was the 5
footer. $175.00. Even if you didn't have a use for one, it would be
nice to have one mounted on a plaque, like a moosehead, in the garage.
(More animal friendly too.) If you can't loosen the cap with one of those
you might just as well buy a new strut.
