You're much better getting the id# of the cop who wrote the ticket and =
contacting him, or his direct superior. they can take the vin and other =
info and be 'on the lookout' for the fraudulent person, as well as clear =
your name. Worst case: simply take it to court and testify.

Subject: Sort of OT: Turbo Diesels and Liscense Plates
Sorry to put this on the list, but I don't have Eric's email address. =
Eric, aren't you doing a TDI swap into your MK I ? What kind of =
performance mods are you doing to it. I have a friend with a new TDI, =
and he kinda interested in doing some mods. Through me a few hints.ie =
BAE Turbo or what?
This is for anyone who has done this before.
Is there a way I can look up a Liscense Plate # online, like maybe =
through my state's DMV? Reason I'm asking is because last week I got =
this letter in the mail telling me I have to pay for speeding ticket. =
there was no other info on the paper, just a price. I was like WTF, and =
I called the judicial building and I told them I haven't gotten pulled =
over in this county in like 3 years. The woman on the phone confirmed =
all the information on my driver's liscence to a tee. And I didn't =
loose my wallet.
So some asshole obviously got pulled over, and knew my name and =
address, and told the cop he didn't have his wallet on him and gave him =
my name and address and the dumbass cop probably went from there. =20
I got the VIN # from the vehicle and the License Plate # and was told =
it was a 98' White Acura Integra. ( I told the lady I wouldn't be caught =
dead driving one of those). This whole thing seems highly unlikely, I =
know, but I never lost my wallet, and I never got pulled over.
anyway is it possible for me to lookup this license plate number or =
the VIN number and see who the car belongs to???
Thanks,
-Brando
