MKII Back Seat Seat Belt with Shoulder Strap
Without the bracket, you'd have to mount the retractor horizontally. It
must be mounted vertically for it to function properly. There is a little
ball bearing that rides on a spring loaded catch. If its not mounted
correctly, the retractor will never release or lock when its supposed
to. The bracket is attached to the horizontal underside of the rear deck
and provides the vertical mount for the retractor.
