yeah, but when it's torqued down correctly, you can't. not saying it's
accurate, or that you shouldn't get an alignment, just that you can get
ballpark if you're careful. if the bolt is exactly the same position,
torqued to spec, your alignment is the same as when you took it off. your
original statement said you can't get "sufficiently close". even tire wear
for 4k miles is sufficiently close in my book. it's certainly close enough
to drive for a week or 2 if you don't have time to get to the shop for an
alignment...
