<DIV>my problems started one day a few weeks ago. when i was driving and smoke started coming out of the hood. when i got home i found that the hose that branches off off the top hose near the cylinder head was torn. got a new one. i then drained the cooling system and filled it. i think i did it right for the most part. then one day i was driving on the highway and it got real hot and overheated. i pulled over and saw that the hose that goes from bottom of rad. to the water pump was disconnected. put it back on on the side of the road. another day car gets hot and overheats a little. now the top hose is disconnected from the top of the radiator. the nipple off the radiator is cracked and rotten. i put it back on, i does it again that day, i put it back on. Now the car will drive and not overheat, but everytime i stop, do what i'm doing, and come back the expansion tank is practically empty. so i hafta fill it with water(which i'm told is bad). the car also smokes after i park it from the front, (the radiator i think) and it seems to only leak when the car is stopped. but only for a little while after i stop. also there is coolant on the fan shroud. ummm all the hose connections seem good. does this sound like a bad radiator? and is a junkyard radiator a bad idea? and is it hard to get out/in?</DIV>
