Well, it seem to be, once again, time for this year's edition of the Scir=
occo
clutch.
Nothing major yet, just a slight slippage at high rpms, and this is how l=
ast
year's edition started to fail. So, advice on what to replace it with. (D=
on't
bother telling me how to preserve it, Denny's the one eating them up, and=
he
won't change his driving style anyway, stubborn men) It is a 210 mm Sachs=
which everyone I talked to thought was more than adequate, but I guess ma=
ybe
we should step up a notch. =
About the car. It has a mildly modified 2L (133 hp at the wheels last ti=
me we
checked) , and a Quaife to stick things down better, as well as a 3.94 fi=
nal
drive. It runs at the strip about twice a month on slicks, so not exactly=
street use - it does see some abuse. But I do drive it a fair amount on t=
he
street too.
So what are the options? This is not a rare setup, so I'm sure there are =
some
who can offer advice. Thanks, I await your input.
Also, if you have any tips or sites with a good tech section, I will like=
ly do
it here at home, and I'm worried about supporting the weight of the bell
housing, I'm pretty weak!
Cathy, just researching for now, awaiting the inevitable.
