Going through knock sensors like candy... why?

Anyone have any suggestions as to why my knock sensors keep going bad?  I 
had a problem with power, but I fixed it by replacing the sensor with a used 
one.  Then, a couple weeks later, the power was gone again.  So I ordered a 
new one this time - it fixed it for a few weeks, now it's bad again.  I also 
replaced the knock sensor control unit previously just to be safe.  Is there 
something wrong in my electrical system that may cause them to go bad?
