Using A2 rear Disks upside down on A1 Drum upgrade.

New A1 rear calipers are $150. Rebuilt ones usually don't
have functioning e-brake mechanisms. If you replace the
pads on an A1 caliper, be prepared to pump the brake pedal
at least 40 times (per the Bentley) and have to drive at
least a week to get the self-adjusting mechanism to
"settle in."

New A3 calipers are $110. Rebuilt units are fully
functional. The self-adjusting mechanism has the pads
against the rotors in 10-20 pumps of the pedal and they
are set.

I think my car stops better with the A3 rear caliper. The
main reason I made the switch was money, though. My old
ones were shot.
